Any bugs associated with the game are taken into consideration but cheating and/or using exploits to gain an advantage will result in a permanent ban. It is almost impossible for Overwatch to act this quick on reports so whatever you did it was recently and not yesterday and the in-game evidence was collectively determined as cheating. The smoke bug is taken into consideration when they make a collective decision and as bans can be significantly delayed due to an investigation the reports filed to OW could have been made weeks ago.
